Eighth-graders in Mrs. Susie Benkert’s classes participated in the Hour of Code during Computer Science Education Week Dec. 9-15.
What began as a one-hour introduction to computer science to show that anybody can learn the basics and to broaden participation in the field of computer science has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with one-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.
This grassroots campaign is now supported by more than 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide. More than 100 million students have tried an Hour of Code in more than 180 countries.
