SPORTS ROUNDUP: SWIMMING, GIRLS GOLF, VOLLEYBALL
The SJCS swim teams swept a tri-meet against Brashier Middle College and Greenville Tech on Tuesday at the Spaulding Farms Pool.
Next up for the Knights will be Monday’s meet against Eastside and Christ Church at Greenville Country Club. Eastside’s boys have won three straight Class 4A state championships and its girls have won back-to-back titles. Christ Church’s girls won the 3A championship last year.

The St. Joseph’s girls golf team returned to its winning ways Tuesday with a tri-match victory against Region 1-2A rivals Christ Church and Landrum.
Playing at The Preserve at Verdae, the Knights (9-4) posted a 179 total, 19 shots better than CCES. Landrum finished with a score of 202.
The Knights were led by juniors Emma Curran and Kaitlyn Dumit, each of whom shot 44. Sophomore Caleigh Noonan posted a 45, and junior Reagan Lillibridge had a 46. Freshman Marett Cole fired a 48.
SJCS returns to action Sept. 19 against Landrum and Chesnee at Links O’Tryon.
The SJCS varsity volleyball team kept rolling Tuesday night, working its way to a 3-1 (25-18, 16-25, 25-9, 25-21) win over visiting Greer Middle College.
The Knights, 5-0 in Region 1-2A, will play on the road against Blacksburg on Thursday night.

The SJCS middle school team earned a split in a tri-match at Spartanburg Day on Monday.
The Knights defeated Spartanburg Day 2-0 (25-18, 25-12) but lost to St. Mary’s 2-0 (25-17, 25-19).
