SJCS 8TH-GRADERS CLAIM TOP PRIZES IN ESSAY CONTEST

Lane Anderson (first), Meghan Spikings (second) and Christopher Johnson (third) took the top three prizes in a patriotic essay contest for SJCS eighth-graders sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council #10819 at St. Mary Magdalene Parish. The theme of the essay contest was, “What does patriotism mean to me?”

The three winners were honored at a recognition dinner on May 20. The students enjoyed a homemade meal and read their essays to the assembly. Prize money also was awarded. We are so grateful to the KOC for sponsoring this contest!

Congrats to Lane, Meghan and Christopher!!
