MINISTRY TRIP BRINGS LIKE-MINDED KIDS TOGETHER

It’s called a GS Vacation, and it’s bringing kids from all over together for a special time of fun and fellowship.

Students from St. Joseph’s will be joining kids from Washington, D.C., Boston, New York, Florida, Ohio and elsewhere for a camping trip to Table Rock State Park June 28-July 3.

“We’re joining with kids from all over the country, especially the East Coast,” said Campus Minister Mr. Gabe Lewis, who will chaperone the St. Joe’s contingent along with theology teacher and Campus Ministry Assistant Ms. Michele Houmis.

“They’re all kids that do the same kind of work that we do at Campus Ministry, the same kind of approach that we take, especially with Wednesday night Campus Ministry, Thursday morning Campus Ministry and our Advent and Lenten retreats.”

The group will go on hikes, swim in the lake, do lots of singing and do presentations “on themes like art, solitude and loneliness, even the history of America in the south, because this vacation takes places in South Carolina,” Mr. Lewis said.

The trip is open to rising freshmen through those who just graduated in 2019.
