The St. Joseph’s boys track team won its third consecutive Class 2A state championship Saturday at Spring Valley High School.

The Knights were led by senior Josh Powers, who had state runner-up finishes in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.

Also for the Knights, sophomore Dylan McTigue was third in the 800 and seventh in the 3,200; junior Brendan McTigue was third in the 1,600 and fifth in the 800; sophomore Tristan McTigue was fourth in the 1,600 and 3,200; senior Zac Palmer was sixth in the 1,600 and seventh in the 800; and junior Isaac Hine was sixth in the 400 hurdles.

Josh, Zac, Brendan and Dylan also teamed to win the state championship in the 4×800 relay.

The SJCS girls took seventh in the state.

For the Knights, senior Lili Jaraczewski was third in the 3,200 and fourth in the 1,600; sophomore Caroline Linen was second in the 800; senior Annika Bissinger was seventh in the 400; and eighth-grader Lane Anderson was sixth in the triple jump.

The SJCS girls’ 4×400 relay team of Annika, Caroline, Sarah Crosby and Julia Jacques placed seventh. (Megan Liptak went as alternate.)
