KNIGHTS’ ‘GUTTY PERFORMANCE’ COMES UP SHORT IN BOYS STATE TENNIS FINAL

The St. Joseph’s boys tennis team came up short in its quest for a state title Saturday, losing to Philip Simmons 6-0 in the Class 2A championship match at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center.

It was the first loss of the season for the Knights, who finished as Upper State champions for the second year in a row.

“(It was a) great season and a gutty performance against the best high school team that I’ve seen,” said SJCS coach Ken Arp. “Their Coach told me, ‘Your boys can play. I was getting worried.’ He told me we are the only competition they have had all year.”

Congrats to the Knights on a tremendous season!
