BOYS TENNIS TEAM ROLLS INTO STATE FINAL

The St. Joseph’s boys tennis team cruised into the state final with a 5-1 victory over visiting Christ Church in the Class 2A Upper State championship match Monday.

The Knights, who won the Upper State for the second year in a row, will play Philip Simmons at noon Saturday in the state final.

Against Christ Church, St. Joe’s had singles victories from Nick Loudermilk at No. 1, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1; Maclean Armstrong at No. 2, 6-1, 6-1; Patrick Reese at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1; Matthew Jacques at No. 4, 6-3, 6-0; and Collin Maides at No. 5, 6-2, 6-0.
