Six members of the Varsity Cheerleading Team attended a four-day UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association) cheerleading camp this summer at Lander University to learn new cheers, stunting, and to inspire leadership on and off the field. While there, the team won multiple gold ribbons, a UCA Spirit Stick, a Superior Award, which was only given to two schools, and three 2nd place trophies for “cheer division,” for “Game Day Readiness,” and for “X-treme Routine” (dance, stunt, and tumble). In addition to these awards, Ashley Caputo (Senior) was chosen for a second consecutive year to be on the All-American Cheerleading Team, and was invited to participate in a parade this December in London.
This year’s Varsity Cheerleading Team consists of two squads for both Football and Basketball. The team includes: Ashley Caputo (Senior – Captain), Reagan Chittum (Senior – Captain), Camille Hoover (Senior – Captain), Cece Hendricks (Senior), Lizzie Latham (Junior), Mary Lynam (Junior), Isabelle McDaniel (Junior), Conyers Wingard (Junior), Lorena Cicale (Sophomore), Lindsey Cummings (Sophomore), Leslie Garcia (Sophomore), and Erica Wood (Freshman).

Anyone interested should contact Coach Jessica Reynolds at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to tryouts.
Anyone who has been on the St. Joseph’s campus recently can feel the excitement around the new UKnight Building! The project is underway and moving smoothly. The conduits from the main building have been run to provide electrical services to the new building and framing has started on the second and third floors with rooms starting to take shape. The plumbing on the first floor is complete and is ready for concrete. St. Joseph’s families can expect to see the roof being put up, new HVAC units, and brick veneer in the upcoming weeks. Don’t blink; the building will be up and operational before you know it!
