Brandon Bennett New Head Football Coach

036St. Joseph’s Catholic School is pleased to announce that Brandon Bennett is the school’s new head football coach.  Coach Bennett, who grew up in Taylors, was an outstanding football player at Riverside High School before matriculating to the University of South Carolina, where had a record-breaking career and is the second all-time leading rusher in USC history and a member of the USC Hall of Fame.  Following college, Brandon had a 10-year career in the NFL where he played running back and special teams.  Since retiring from the NFL, Brandon has been actively involved with the Upstate’s youth as a coach, trainer, teacher, school administrator, and business owner.  Brandon is a sought after guest-speaker and also spends time in elementary schools, where he reads to students and talks to them about the importance of education, community service, and self-awareness to enhance growth in sports and in life. Brandon’s wife, Shannon, holds a master’s degree in education and teaches second grade at Bethel Elementary. Together, they have two sons. St. Joseph’s will officially introduce Coach Bennett to our school community at 11:30 AM after Mass this Thursday, January 26th.  There will be an opportunity to meet Brandon in the Meeting Room at the school immediately following the introduction.
